By integrating goat distribution with capacity-building, the program embodies a forward-thinking vision: breaking cycles of poverty, fostering gender-inclusive growth, and cultivating self-reliance. Ultimately, it aims to reshape livelihoods, ensuring communities thrive through resilience and entrepreneurial opportunity.

Dowa Farmers Gain Business Skills Through TAPP and Mentors International Partnership

TAPP, in collaboration with Mentors International, is driving a visionary initiative in Nachisaka and Chibvala EPA in Dowa, Malawi. The initiative blends livestock provision with skill-building to empower rural communities.

The partnership’s dual strategy recently reached a milestone: 166 goats were distributed to 83 farmers (including 60 women and 23 men), advancing progress toward the broader goal of delivering 1,590 goats of which 966 have already been allocated.

Beyond livestock, the initiative equips farmers with critical skills through training in business management, financial literacy, and debt mitigation. This holistic approach ensures recipients not only gain assets but also the expertise to manage resources, launch sustainable enterprises, and secure long-term economic stability.

Geographically focused on Dowa’s underserved regions, the project amplifies its impact by targeting areas where such interventions are most transformative.
